prototype

I have been thinking about a gauzy cotton-linen top without much tailoring
and this is a prototype - just two squares sewn together with gaps for head and arms.

despite the lack of shape it's quite comfortable because the fabric is so light
...yet I am not completely satisfied with it...

There is something amazing about sewing your own handwovens and wearing them
but I am still sort of fighting against the idea of pattern cutting!

I love it, I really do.
Have you checked out Indygo Junction? if you must use a pattern, they have nice ones.

Gorgeous! Perhaps pleats or gathers or darts or even sewing ribbons on inside as a conduit for a drawstring or elastic? You could do any of these without having to cut that gorgeous fabric.

oh WOW! love the photo of the loom - and the fact that you make your own fabric! woah! Impressed, and hope to see more!

It's a strange thing, cutting your own woven fabrics... I understand you completely! :-)
