where we bought a lovely blanket for my niece

Kloster Neustift

We're back!
three weeks in the mountains without internet connection or television and almost no phone network...
now, this was a REAL holiday!

we visited some wonderful places - this is one of them - a wine trip to Abbazia di Novacella

cross stitch patterns

speaking of aunts again....

a few years back, when we had to empty my great-aunt's house, I kept everything textile-related,
from buttons to bed linen, to emboidery books and so on.
This is an old booklet with some very nice cross-stitch patterns that I finally scanned:

I am an aunt!
and this is my new lovely niece, born on August the 1st.
She has already got all of us under her spell!

an old linen sheet - too worn in some places - turned into cushions
and then the simplest dip-dyeing in the colour of the sky

it's a false ikat

because I am having fun bleaching some sections of the warp!

little treasures

I received another textile letter from Karina!
this one containes the most beautiful little samples of fabric she designed when she was working in Italy.
