I noticed that my holiday photos create little clusters
- so I have photo collections on silly subjects! - mostly details, as usual.

walnut brown

a few skeins I recently dyed with walnuts - one is pure cashmere,
one is a cashmere-silk blend and the third one is llama.
They were in the same dyebath but the colours are slightly different - interesting.

white and blue linen

this time I did it.

Cut and sewn - finished with bias tape.
I still have to wear it and test it, but so far I am happy.

prototype

I have been thinking about a gauzy cotton-linen top without much tailoring
and this is a prototype - just two squares sewn together with gaps for head and arms.

despite the lack of shape it's quite comfortable because the fabric is so light
...yet I am not completely satisfied with it...

There is something amazing about sewing your own handwovens and wearing them
but I am still sort of fighting against the idea of pattern cutting!

Lucca

a quick day trip to Lucca with my dad
- we even had time to climb on top of the amazing Torre Guinigi! -

oriental art

at the museum Edoardo Chiossone, right in the centre of town.
The museum is on top of a hill, so there's quite a view from there.
This time on display there were mostly ceramics...I hope they will show the textiles soon!

- - - - - -

while I get to know the serger, I decided to open my box of UFOs
and finish a linen top that I started ages ago.
It's a pleasure when you finish something and it's ready to be used
 - especially when outside it's 30°C! -
This top is a very simple thing, but I finished it with French seams, so it's neat on the inside as well.
And to complete the outfit, one of my silk-cotton-linen scarves, perfect for the aperitivo by the sea!
