all is blue

I got some lovely indigo dyed wool from a fantastic place here in Genova.
I only got a skein for sampling, but already I can't take my eyes off it. It's clear that I need a LOT more.

I wove a piece of cotton fabric for a cushion.
I used some rainbow yarn for both warp and weft and a simple log cabin pattern.
I quite like the effect.

The amount of things to be done in this flat is still overwhelming but I calmed down a lot.
It's the effect of Autumn approaching...

Doni, lovely colour and weaving!

Log cabin is a perfect weave for variegated yarn, also using it for both warp and weft. I'd have been afraid it would look mucky. It does not.
I admire your weaving for its use of simple structures to big effect, and your perfect pitch when it comes to color

Thank you both!
Susan, I too was afraid the outcome would be confused, but this time I was lucky (just because I really wanted to use some cotton yarn I already had in my stash!)

oh my god, that color and weave are so beautiful!!
I don't spin or weave, but you made me dream about all the beautiful things I would make from your indigo fabric. :D
