Nadia's loom is now operational (we spent quite a few hours setting it up, with texsolv cords and full countermarch tie-up, following Dot's precious advice). Then, since I had my camera with me, I couldn't resist taking some pics around her house - I really like her style! The throw was woven with wool leftovers, then assembled with old silk ties.
Imagine, you contributed towards increasing the world's operative loom count by 1! I'm giving 10-year offers around town to rescue a loom in the shed/garage/basement, but so far nobody has taken up my offer!
Meg, I did worse than that! The loom was in my studio - we moved it earlier this summer - because she only had a table loom and it was about time she had a floor one! Keep trying, I'm sure you'll succeed some time soon!
Love the atmosphere in these photos. Reading you blog, reminds me how much I would like to start weaving. But I am afraid I would need some help in setting up the loom, despite my one semester weaving course...
Thorvalda, I am sure you could start with something simple; setting up the loom can seem daunting but it's not! And once you start you know what's going to happen....you'll get hooked!
