cross stitch patterns

speaking of aunts again....

a few years back, when we had to empty my great-aunt's house, I kept everything textile-related,
from buttons to bed linen, to emboidery books and so on.
This is an old booklet with some very nice cross-stitch patterns that I finally scanned:
I though it would be nice to share them!

the whole booklet with bigger pics is here

I am besotted by these, and the idea of someone (else) making me table cloths and table centers and dresser table "things". I tried to see if I could find the year the booklet was made but I couldn't. Many of designs hint at 1910-30's-ish; more Deco than Nouveau? So very stylish! I have a biggish book of Italian embroidery designs from the 70's, I think, but the fashion by then has reverted to more pictorial/realistic in the main. I like to look at them, but if I were to take on a project, these are so much more inviting to me! (But not the bats. Noooo....)

Meg,
I looked for the publication year too but couldn't find it anywhere. I'd love to have a tablecloth embroidered with one of the patterns but I know I won't be the one doing it!

Oh! Thanks very much for this! I love finding old cross stitch designs, and the Arts and Crafts period is a particular favorite. I am *really* happy to have found your blog!
